OSU vs. UCLA

Today not only was Halloween but it was also a home game for the Beavers which of
course meant a killer tailgate with Doug and his buddies as usual. After Emily and I had spent the morning driving around putting together our costumes and buying buns and coleslaw for Doug’s feast we met up with him and the others in the parking lot as usual just as he was carving up the beef brisket that was given to him. Of course everyone was dressed up in makeup and fake blood. We had some great bbq brisket sandwiches before heading to the game. We of course pounded some beers before heading to the game and after a half time of drinking we returned to the game which we were leading. With about 5 minutes left of the game and us up by 8 I felt confident enough to say, “well, we got this game in the bag” in front
of
Ben Sigler who had joined our group in the stands. He gave me a dirty look and I didn’t realize why until UCLA had scored a touchdown 30 seconds later and then run a 2-point conversion to tie the game. I couldn’t believe it. The game was suddenly really intense. Thankfully our defense was able to hold off UCLA and win the game! After the game Emily and I headed back to our apartment to get ready for our Halloween party. But that’s the next blog entry... :)
