Mary's Peak North Ridge

This afternoon Emily and went on a great ride with Tiffany, Chris, Anna and John up Mary’s Peak and down the North Ridge to test out a full suspension rig that Emily is thinking about buying. We had a great time and were even able to make it back for our 4:20 softball game. Total ride was 8.7 miles and it took us a little over 2.5 hours with 1600 feet of elevation gain!

Andrea & Robert Allen's Wedding

On Saturday Robert Allan and Andrea Scheutz were married at the Hanson House just
west of Corvallis. It was a beautiful ceremony. Emily and I especially liked the Native American Blessing along with the “box of letters” to each other that are to be read on their 25th anniversary or if their marriage gets rocky. The woman who performed the marriage did a wonderful job. The ceremony was about 20-25 minutes long and thankfully the sun was behind the trees for most of it providing shade for the rest of us. Andrea looked beautiful as always and Robert was hilarious in his soccer cleats! They had really great vows for each other and I still think Robert is one of the funniest people I know.
The reception after the wedding was a lot of fun and the food, catered by bombs, was spectacular. For booze we all had our choices of wine, margaritas or beer. I was planning on climbing Illumination
Rock on Mt. Hood with Evan in the morning so I didn’t drink too much. Unfortunately those plans fell through in the morning. The live band was fantastic and their cover of “get busy” from the Concords tv show was hilarious. There were really funny toasts for the newlyweds but Bob Duncan’s had to take the cake when he pulled out a red card
and yellow card for Andrea to give to Robert if needed.. ha! Instead of a cake they had custom made cupcakes of various flavors with a small cake on top which they took for themselves back to the head table. Tiffany and Kandice were bridesmaides but I didn’t know any of the other wedding party members. Robert had brought his foosball table which became a hit with a bunch of our friends under the gazebo where they got married. The inside of the inn seemed off limits but the
weather was perfect and most people had set up tents in the field nearby to spend the night. There was an amusing chicken that paraded around the yard throughout the ceremony and after... only in Oregon! I danced a bit, while Emily danced A LOT. Around 11:30pm
after Chris got nailed with cake in the face Emily and I decided we needed to get going to I would be able to get up early. It was one of the most wonderful weddings I’ve been to and everything went well. It was great to see that Robert’s 101 year old grandma could witness it! The two of them are absolutely perfect for each other and Emily and I wish them the best of luck in all their journeys together!
