This week I’ve started processing the Hood Images. I have 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2003 done. I’m still planning on having all the Hood images processed by the end of November. I’ve started a gallery of the Hood ratio images which you can see on the right here. You can also access it via THIS LINK.
Questions:
When you have time could you look through the Rainier ratio gallery and let me know if there are any years that you don’t think we should use?

Hi Jon,
I've looked at the Rainier ratio images. They look good. I see that some years show a fair amount of snow compared with adjacent years. You still need to choose the band ratio threshold it seems. After thresholding the images, please map the glacier extent. Next, my suggestion is that we should look at groups of three years and pick the year with the smallest glacier area. That way, we minimize the amount of spurious snow cover and still have a fairly tight time step for our time series. Getting a good estimate of glacier area for a 3-year period is more important than getting an annual glacier area (that may be incorrect in some years).
