Camera Testing

Emily and I got a new DSLR camera, the Nikon D7000 and we
have been testing it out around town for the past couple weeks. I bought a book about how to use it off Amazon (along with a Ipad 2 book for my mom who loves her new Ipad 2 btw). I certainly have a lot to learn about photography and what the best settings are for various occasions. I’ll probably just use the automatic
setting and keep tabs on the settings the camera uses and try to duplicate them myself in my own work. Anyway, here
are some of my favorites from the first 3 weeks of owning the camera. The camera takes so much better photos than my iphone or any point and shoot I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately, it weights about 5 pounds and is pretty bulky but I figure if I can pack in a box of wine on a backcountry trip I could manage a five pound camera. Right now we have two lenses, one for indoors and weddings, and one with a
16-85mm zoom lens. Hopefully in the future we will get a super wide 10mm fixed lens for pano-like shots, a fish eye, a macro, and a 400mm lens for far away shooting and wildlife shots. The camera also shoots at 6 fps so it will be perfect for mountain biking shots and skiing shots when I can get back on my boards next season.
