Done with School! Golf & BBQ

On Friday I submitted my final draft of
my Masters Thesis to the graduate school thus officially completing my 4 years of graduate studies in the field of remote sensing within the Geography Department of Geosciences at Oregon State University! Hooray! For now I’m going to leave the “Research” page of this website up but may delete it down the road as time passes. I should get my diploma in the mail within a couple weeks.
On Friday night we had gone out for drinks with the Watershed Crew after our 2nd loss of Softball knocking us out of the playoffs. Fortunately, we had already won our C/D normal season so we already had a trophy. Kevin’s sister Katie is in town so we met up with Alexa and her and Kevin at the Crowbar.
Mischa and Katie were already pretty
buzzed when we got there. I could have sworn I saw Zack Galifinakas when we rode up on our bikes but Emily assured me that it was not him. We stayed till around 11:30 then took off for home.

On Saturday I decided it would be restful for me to sleep in. Getting up at 11am felt fantastic. We met up with Tim and Lindsay for some 9 hole golf. I told them it was my 4th or 5th time ever playing golf so they gave me a bunch of pointers... and beer. Turns out I’m actually pretty good and have a decent and consistent swing. I only used the 7-iron and the putter for the whole time, often putting 20 feet in the rough onto the green... and guess what? Yup, I had the lowest score of all of us! ha! It was a lot of fun and I definitely want to go more often.

When we got back from golf we had a bbq for the rest of the evening. A bunch of Kevin’s fisheries buddies showed up and Chris Holm made an appearance before taking off for Wyoming to pick up Tiff for her move back to Oregon. He seemed pretty stoked. I made a big bowl of mojitos for everyone and there was plenty of food and beer to go around. Colin stopped by with his favorite new beer - bud light lime! ha! It was a fun bbq and we eventually burned through the giant log I had started back in May! Great laid back Saturday!
