After taking a the first weekend of the year to catch up on "life things" around the house we decided to get away this weekend for something. The original plan had been to head to Bend to visit Aaron Hartz but unfortunately that got cancelled and the weather didn't appear to pleasant for skiing anyway. Instead, we headed off into the Gorge on a rainy Sunday to check out the Herman Creek to Casey Creek trail. Read on...
With thick clouds and drizzle I didn't want to go anywhere with views so this hike with promised waterfalls seemed perfect to get Leo out for some fresh air. The trail was well maintained but pretty uneventful except for the very tall Nick Eaton Falls that we soon came across. I got some fun shots of Leo and Emily below the falls before we continued on up to the Casey Creek trail intersection.
There wasn't much there except for a campground so we turned around at 3pm and hustled back down the muddy trail to make it out by dark. Leo was covered in mud but we had towels to dry him off for the ride home. He was a happy pup to get away for the day for sure!
